Community Business Connector
Strengthening Resource Networks with Trusted Messengers
Â
The Seattle Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce invites local resource partners from nonprofit and public sectors to discover the Community Business Connector (CBC) and the pivotal role of trusted messengers in enhancing small business support networks in King County.
Â
The aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic unveiled the significant isolation of small businesses, particularly those owned by BIPOC individuals, from existing support systems. Negotiating relief funding also posed considerable challenges. In response, the Seattle Metro Chamber initiated a trusted messenger business navigator initiative, with local partners' assistance, to address this pressing issue.
Â
Launched in 2023, CBC supports small business owners and entrepreneurs in various aspects, from marketing and technology to business planning, accessing capital, navigating regulatory requirements, and connecting to social services. Operating across all King County jurisdictions, CBC primarily targets outreach in five service area hubs, with connectors reaching 26 cities. https://communitybusinessconnector.com/
Â
Ten connectors are engaged in facilitating resource referrals to foster business growth and sustainability. The goal is to reinforce connections within King County's small business support ecosystem while actively promoting the development of a more equitable and inclusive entrepreneurial network with BIPOC business owners at its core. https://communitybusinessconnector.com/meet-the-connectors
